Adventure, relaxing, sport and fishing My wife and I stayed at Villa Jeda in august 2010. It turned out to be true value for the money. We didn’t want to stay in another hotel this time. We wanted peace and quiet. The website made deciding easy. Stunning pictures gave us the image of a secluded home up in the mountains. And indeed it was. Pemuteran is a lovely small village in the north. Having experienced Bali since the early nineties, I longed for authenticity. The south of Bali regretfully has become quite like any upscale beach place in the world with expensive restaurants and a buzzing nightlife. The north of Bali still brings back that old feel of the first visits to Bali years back. Less traffic, small roads. Small warungs, laidback atmosphere. Staying at the villa was a treat. The villa was well decorated, well designed. The location of the villa unique. Behind the pool mountains rise to the sky. On the other side of the villa the ocean spreads wide from left to right. The staff friendly. Shopping was done before we arrived. Fresh salads from an organic farm in the fridge enabled us to do our own thing for lunch. We had the cook prepare some of our meals at home at dinnertime. The meals were delicious. Healthy and tasty. We both are into diving. I am the occasional fisherman ideally at nighttime. Well, there was much of it in Pemuteran. Menjangan Island was good for diving. Visibility excellent. No current. Fishing at night was super. Selamat, the supervisor, arranged a local fisherboat and we had a blast! I lost ‘the battle’ from him, even though I brought all the fancy equipment. But what a joy to eat the catch just after fishing… We are coming back again to Pemuteran. We are coming back again to Villa Jeda. Hopefully soon.
