Paul Haarhuis: Fantastic Villa

This villa was fantastic ! Having always stayed in numerous luxury hotels all over the world, this was truly a change of pace. The villa enabled me to unwind from my ‘crazed’ business existence. I heard that if you go Bali, you should never stay too long in the south. Too many people, too much traffic… But where to go ? Somebody told me about North Bali, not to go to Lovina, but to go to Pemuteran instead. I’m so happy I listened to her advice. The beaches in Pemuteran are so quiet. Having stayed in the south for two days, I understand the difference. The beach was completely free of sellers. But then the villa! What a beautiful place. So well designed, so well decorated. The views were so grand…. so impressive. You could see the ocean and Javanese volcanoes, just like they said on the website. The skies were amazing, especially during sunset-hours. It made me not want to leave the villa. I spent hours and hours just reading at the poolside, in the gazebo. Food and drinks were being taken care of by the staff. They offered a lovely menu with great dishes. The private cook was absolutely fantastic. Everything well prepared with ingredients from a nearby organic farm. I ate out just a few times, but nothing compared to the meals at home. The staff was very friendly and not intrusive. It’s not like you have a butler on your side all the time… So, it was very pleasant. The mountains behind the villa were astonishingly beautiful. Where else can you stay and feel so much part of nature ? A true paradise. In the evening it is nice to hear all the several sounds nature brings you! My occasional trip ‘down’ to the village was done by a shuttle-service car with chauffeur, that looked much like a golf-cart. I took one dive-trip to Menjangan Island. That was great. So nice to be diving again! Great coral reefs there, great fishes. I loved it.
